Last night I went out to dinner with my mom. Originally, Kevin's mom was going to babysit the boys so I could just go with my mom because we were going to look at some Christmas presents for the boys. Well Justin asked several times if he could stay with me, and since today he has to go to Kevin's mom's no matter what because I'm going to a church RS activity from 9-1 and then out to dinner with Kevin and friends tonight, I decided to go ahead and take him and just let Jakey stay with Kevin's mom. Jakey has no interest in going out to eat with me and my mom. LOL
Anyhow, so we went to Red Robin and had dinner and then went over to Toys R Us. My mom wanted to get Justin the Fisher-Price Smart Cycle and they had a display model going. So I let Justin out of the cart because we wanted to see if this was something that he could do. He hopped on and started playing and did a really good job. A lady came up with her son who was about Justin's age and he was screaming hysterically that HE wanted a turn. It was so distracting to Justin that Justin just gave up before the end of the demo game (which was maybe 3 minutes, seriously the kid could have waited) So my mom was so impressed she went ahead and bought two of them - one for Justin and one for Erica. We were walking around the aisles near there to look at kid-friendly digital cameras for Natalle's birthday tomorrow and we hear that mom tell her son that it's time to move on (the three minute demo game must have been over) and OH BOY, that kid threw an even LOUDER fit then the one he threw when Justin was on the bike! We walked through the store for 30 minutes or so after that, Justin didn't ask for anything and was the model of a well behaved 3 year old (surprisingly) and this other boy screamed hysterically making the trip actually miserable for everyone else in the store. Why do parents do that? I mean I could totally understand at the grocery store - you HAVE to have groceries...but at Toys R Us? You don't HAVE to have toys, especially not for your hysterical 3 year old! Anyhow as we were checking out, by the way we got Natalle this camera in pink, the lady finally left with her screaming son. Thank goodness. And we were so proud of Justin!! What a good boy he was! He didn't even get upset when we put the bikes into my mom's car for her to take home and wrap up for him to get for Christmas. We didn't exactly tell him the bike would be his for Christmas but he didn't act upset at all either. And he REALLY liked the bike! LOL
